Dear St. Patrick families,

We would like to thank everyone who was able to join us for the ice cream social and games on Sunday. We were really excited for the parish and school communities to get to know each other, meet new families and to enjoy each other’s company. A big thanks also goes out to all of the volunteers for their time and talents. The raffle winners were as follows – Milissa Smith 50/50, Kim Trautman Belleria gift card, Fran Hardesty Belleria gift card, Maria Smith Pump It Up gift card, Tiffany Schnidler Target gift card, Tamara Abbassi girl’s dance outfit, Valencia Miller Kent Natural Foods gift card, Christine Havanas Rise and Shine gift card, Carrie Szczesniak Haymarket tee shirt, a boy’s uniform and a Giant Eagle gift card. Congratulations to all of the winners and thank you for supporting our school. The Home and School Association is looking forward to a great school year.

Our annual candy sale begins today. The students will be bringing home their boxes of candy this afternoon.

There is no school on Monday, Sept. 4th. We will celebrate Labor Day on Monday.

Don’t forget to send in your milk fees and any other paperwork that needs to be returned to the school.

The first Home and School Association meeting of the year will be held at 6 PM on Thursday, Sept. 14th, in the church basement. The roles of president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer are one year terms, and will be voted in for the 2017 – 2018 school year at this meeting. Anyone wishing to run for one of the positions must submit their intentions to me no later than Friday, Sept. 8th. If you are not already a committee member, and wish to be a part of the Home and School planning committee meetings, please contact Emily Fox at 330-221-6584 or emilyfox@yahoo.com.

It is time for our annual St. Jude’s Math-a-thon to begin. Permission forms and collection envelopes will be coming home next week and need to be returned by Sept. 13th. The last day for the Math-a-thon is Oct. 6th. Please be generous with your donations. We have supported this cause in the past and I hope that we have another great year of donations.

The 7th and 8th grade students are having a Mum Sale the weekend of Sept. 16th and 17th. This sale will  help to defray the costs of the Niagara Falls and Washington D. C. field trips for the students. Preorder forms have been sent home with all of the students. Preorders are suggested as there will be limited “cash and carry” mums available for purchase. The preorder forms are due by Sept. 5th to the school but payment does not need to be made until the flowers are picked up on either the 16th or 17th. Additional order forms are available in the school office. Please consider purchasing your mums here and supporting the students. The St. Patrick 7th and 8th grade students thank you for your support.

Have a great three-day weekend. We can all use the break after all of the activity from the first two weeks of school.

And, as always ….. GO PANTHERS!
