Dear St. Patrick families,

Happy belated Easter to everyone! I hope you were able to celebrate Easter in each of your families’ special way.

I would ask everyone to keep Mrs. Thompson in their prayers. Last Thursday she was admitted to the hospital and had an emergency appendectomy. She is recovering at this time and hopes to come home soon.

If anyone is applying for the Diocesan scholarship, the deadline has been moved to April 30th.

The Edchoice deadline for all scholarships has been extended to May 30th. If you have not turned in your renewals, yet please do so. You may mail them to us or drop them off at the office and we will meet you at the door.

I have discussed with Fr. Pentello regarding some of the activities that have been postponed. We are looking at rescheduling First Communion, Confirmation and 8th grade graduation. This will occur once things return to some degree of normalcy.

Although we are hoping to return to school sometime this year, that decision is yet to be addressed. Gov. DeWine is not looking to address this issue until later in the month. President Trump has discussed some activities to be restored sooner than later, there are no guarantees as to when this will happen. I want to see the students return when it is safe and not before.

I am beginning to drop in on the Zoom classes to see how everyone is doing. I commend out teachers for the time and effort they are taking to bring content to the students either through Zoom classes or Google classroom or another means. I ask you to be supportive of what the teachers are doing. We are a brick and mortar school that is trying to adapt to what we do in an entirely different situation. All of the schools out there are in the same boat and are trying to adapt likewise. Because one school is doing something different, that does not make it the way we should be doing it. We will get through this together. Let’s work together to make the best of this situation.

If there is something you need we are in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 AM to 2 PM. We cannot let you in the building but can pass something through the door. I know the students do not have what is in their desks, we will deal with that at another time.

Have a great rest of the week. I will keep you updated as things progress. Stay safe! Stay healthy! And, as always ….. GO PANTHERS!
