Dear St. Patrick families,
The diocesan churches have received word that Masses may resume the weekend of May 30 and 31. There will be restrictions that will be necessary, so we will have to wait and see what will happen. The parish will begin to look at how First Communion and Confirmation can be rescheduled. The school is looking at what we may be able to do for 8th grade graduation. At the present, we are not permitted to have a drive up or drive by service. I would prefer to wait and see what we are able to schedule a little later this summer.
I am also looking at how we will get the students’ items in their desks back to them. I will be discussing this with the teachers and when I can get them in here to begin the process. When we are ready to do so, it will be with the cautionary measure that we will not allow families into the building. This information will be forthcoming.
For those families that ride the Streetsboro bus, there will be some very important information posted on the school website from the Streetsboro Transportion Office. Please read this carefully. There is a deadline for the necessary information.
The deadline for Edchoice applications is fast approaching. Please get all of your information into the office so I can begin processing the applications to the state. You can mail them in or drop them off at the school office.
I am waiting to receive our refund for the Washington D. C. trip. I will be meeting with the 7th and 8th grade teachers, who will let you know how and when the refunds will be available.
The last day the teachers will be taking grades is May 29th. This will allow them to round up any missing work from the students the following week. We will not be putting an attendance figure for the 4th quarter since we were not physically in the building.
The Cedar Point Straight A program has been canceled for this year. Cedar Point hopes to restart the program next year.
As you may know, all state testing was canceled for this year. The third grade guarantee that had been in place previously, has been curtailed. None of our third graders will need to retake any of the third grade state tests.
If you are interested in purchasing a Summer Solutions workbook for your child, the information is posted on the school website. Please purchase the grade level your child is in.
The 20 – 21 buying guide for uniforms from SchoolBelles is posted on the school website. Click the link for further information.
I would like to thank all of our families for their support and kind words during this most difficult time. We were thrown into this completely unprepared, and, by all of the teachers working extra hours on their own and finding ways to pass on content to the students, we were able to successfully make this happen. It hasn’t been easy at times because expectations differ and we try to address these concerns as best we can. I thank the teachers for their hard work and dedication in making this happen.
I hope you enjoyed the snow showers this weekend. I can’t remember the last time I saw snow in May.
Have a great rest of your week! And, as always ….. GO PANTHERS!
