Dear St. Patrick families,
School will not be in session tomorrow, Feb. 16th (teacher in-service) and Monday, Feb. 19th (Presidents’ Day).
Don’t miss the St. Patrick ice skating event this weekend at the Kent State ice arena (located at 650 Loop Road in Kent.) We will have our very own rink reserved just for our St. Patrick families and friends. The event takes place this Sunday. Feb. 18th, from 5:10 PM to 7:10 PM. The cost is $8 per skater. Look for the Home and School table by the entrance where you can purchase your tickets the day of the event. Please note we will only be able to accept cash or check. We hope to see you there!
Our next scheduled dress down day is Friday, Feb. 23rd. The cost is fifty cents for all students.
Order forms for our St. Patrick Day shirt have been sent home. Orders are due on Wednesday, Feb. 21st. This will allow us to get them in your hands by March. The shirt may be worn any time during the month of March with school uniform bottoms.
There are two issues that seem to crop up at this time of the year. One is tardy arrivals. School starts at 8 AM and students need to be in their classroom prior to this time. Not only does this take away from their own learning time but it also disturbs the class and distracts the other students. Please make every effort to arrive on time. Also, our absentee rate is rising, as is the number of students who are being sent home daily. This year’s flu is worse than in recent years, so I ask that you keep sick children home. I know this can be difficult but you end up having to come and pick them up, in addition to spreading sickness to other students.
